Quantum Cloud

Rotabull supports Quantum Cloud. Set up instructions are below, but first be sure to check your Quantum version. Rotabull does not support versions of Quantum using a Firebird database, Q-Step or Quantum Private Cloud.

Most of the Quantum Cloud set up process is handled by Rotabull staff. With the Quantum Cloud integration, Rotabull uses a VPN connection to communicate with your Quantum database.

Set Up Instructions

  1. Send a request to Component Control for VPN access to your Quantum server. Rotabull will use the VPN connection to sync data to and from your Quantum ERP. You can request this from your contact or Component Control, or you can reach out to them at [email protected]. Here's a template you could use for the request email:

OpenVPN Access Request

Hi,

We are requesting an OpenVPN connection to our Quantum server.  The purpose is to allow an external system we're using (Rotabull) to read our Quantum data.  Once enabled, if you could please provide us the following information that would be greatly appreciated:

VPN host Server Username Server Password

Thanks,

  1. We will need the IP address or hostname of the Quantum database server to connect once the VPN is working. You can typically find this connection information wherever you log on to Quantum. There will be a text file named "tnsnames.ora" located within a directory for Oracle.

If you're able to locate this file, search for HOST =. The IP address or hostname of your Quantum database server will be on the the right side of the equals sign: (HOST = hostname_or_ip). If you encounter any difficulties, we're happy to assist on a call or your IT team may be able to provide this info

  2. Once we have the necessary information and access, Rotabull staff will connect Rotabull to your Quantum database using the VPN connection.

Confirming Quantum Cloud is connected

You can check that the integration is fully connected correctly, with two steps:

  1. Go to your listings in Rotabull and confirm your inventory has synced.
  2. Once your sales team begins sending quotes, confirm that the quotes are being entered into Quantum.
